Unlike just about every other bar near State Street, Elsie's actually feels like it's unphased by the masses of tourists that wash seasonally through the city. It took me a little work to find it--it's a little bit hidden and unflashy--but this is ultimately a good feature. I found that it's not quite loungy, but it's not quite a dive either. One word fits the bill: cozy. And a great tap selection brought a very wide grin to this customer's face."
