The Santa Barbara Bird Sanctuary, www.sbbird.org, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of injured, orphaned, abused and abandoned parrots and companion birds.

I got too old to properly care for my female Moluccan Cockatoo and didn't want to sell her to strangers, as you never know what kind of treatment/care she'll get. Sometimes people love these beautiful birds and buy them without realizing how much work it takes to properly care for them. And they could become mistreated or abandoned. I chose SBBS because I knew I would never have to worry, plus I can visit her anytime.
