Does anyone know how to make a damage claim with the postal carrier who delivers our mail? She ripped the lid of our mailbox off which shattered on the ground. I called the local post office who was little to no help and made excuses for what she did. She speeds constantly through the neighborhood (neighbors can vouch for this) as well as she has even driven into out neighbors trash can bc it was in her way (right against the curb as its supposed to be on trash day) and took it along with her a couple of houses down. I have never filled a complaint due to giving her the benefit of the doubt and thinking maybe she's in a hurry. However, my mailbox is now broken and has to be HOA specific. They wanted me to write out what happened and send pictures however I have had her and two other mail carriers come by to take pictures of the mail box.. Her boss states she says she doesn't speed and that she didn't break it.. The neighbors moving company saw her as did we as my son waits in the front room for the mail when he hears the car come around. She used force to open it and broke it then it fell and shattered. How can I go above this post office to get this fixed? I initially didn't want her to be in trouble but simply fix what she broke. Now it seems nothing will be done and her excuses are enough and that is absolutely irritating so I'd like to take it up the chain if possible.

Question - For the past month we have been receiving terrible mail service. No delivery some days, delivery of wrong mail other days. Does anyone know how best to go about formalizing a complaint in order to try and get improved service? I'm not home at the time the mail carrier is at the house, otherwise I'd have the conversation directly. Thanks
