Translated to mean "Mother of All Arabians" in Arabic, Om El Arab is widely considered one of the world's most historic and successful breeding programs of World, International and National champion Arabian horses. It began forty years ago in the Black Forest in Germany before moving to Santa Ynez, California. Its foundation mare, the pure Spanish diva *Estopa, is the cornerstone of the entire breeding program. Her influence and that of her son *El Shaklan, who was bred at Om El Arab, are unparalleled. Entire breeding programs have been established around the world based upon these two individuals.

Om El Arab International is arguably the most successful private breeding program in the world. It would be difficult to research show results from around the world for the past ten, twenty, thirty or forty years because the data is so extensive. What it would show, however, is the unparalleled influence of the Om El Arab breeding program.
