Santa Barbara contains numerous performing art venues, including the 2,000 seat Arlington Theatre, which is the largest indoor performance venue in Santa Barbara and site of the annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival. Other major venues include the Lobero Theatre, a historic building and favorite venue for small concerts; the Granada Theater, the tallest building downtown, originally built by contractor C.B. Urton in 1924, but with the theatre remodeled and reopened in March 2008; and the Santa Barbara Bowl, a 4,562 seat outdoor amphitheatre in a canyon at the base of the Riviera.

3. South Coast Railroad Museum
The South Coast Railroad Museum in Goleta, California, focuses on the history, technology, and adventure of railroading. The museum centerpiece is Goleta Depot, a country railroad station house built by the Southern Pacific in 1901 during completion of the Coast Route joining San Francisco and Los Angeles. Goleta Depot is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

5. Casa De La Guerra
The Casa De La Guerra was the residence of the fifth commandant of the Presidio De Santa Barbara, José De La Guerra y Noriega from 1828 until his death in 1858. His home was the social, political, and cultural center of Santa Barbara during the Mexican period. Descendants of José lived in the home until 1943.
